Torres Machado is a visual artist and a cultural leader from Latin America working and living in New York. He received his BA in Contemporary Arts and Communication, with minors in Photography and Psychology, from Universidad de las Artes in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Universidad San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador.
Machado is the recipient of the 2017 New York Regional Award of the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. He was granted a year Art Residency at the Bushwick Generator in 2019 and at Trestle Art Space in 2016, both in New York. In 2020, the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts granted him financial Grants to keep developing his art projects during the pandemia. Recently, The CICA Museum from South Korea chose him as one of the eight most influential artists for the International Symposium for Visual Culture 2021 (ISVC) and to be featured in the upcoming book “New Media Art 2022” next December.
Machado is the Co-founder and Director of ArteLatAm whose mission is to promote Latin American visual artists and creatives globally. Currently, he serves as Program Director for SUN Arts.
